Welcome Taylor & Francis to the Bookshare Family of Publishers

Taylor & Francis Group, headquartered in London and one of the world’s leading international academic publishers, has signed an agreement with Bookshare. They will grant world rights to all books added to the collection. A Very Special Collection: The Schneider Family Book Award

The Schneider Family Book Awards honor an author or illustrator for a book that embodies an artistic expression of the disability experience for child and adolescent audiences. Three annual awards of $5000 and a framed plaque are given in the following categories: birth through grade school (age 0–8), middle school (age 9–13) and teens (age 14–18). Agreement with Leading Independent Book Publisher Brings Eclectic Collection to Bookshare Members

One of the leading independent book publishers in North America, and the largest woman-owned trade book publisher in North America, Sourcebooks, has signed an agreement with Bookshare to provide an extensive selection of titles across its imprints. RAND Corporation to Offer Publications through Bookshare

RAND Corporation has entered into an agreement granting Bookshare world rights to distribute its collection of more than 15,000 RAND research publications, reports, and commentary to people with print disabilities. And we think this is pretty exciting! What We’re Reading {December 17 2010}: Top Books of 2010

Creating a “best of” list is always a challenge. Especially when it comes to a “best of” list of books. I suspect that’s because what makes a book good is so personal to each of us, it’s very tough to compile a list that is universally liked. As surely as the sun rises every day, digital books are steadily, daily finding their way into classrooms. Their arrival will not flood our classrooms like a tsunami; rather they will appear because of the foresight and talent of leading educators who recognize the many benefits of digital books and know how to incorporate them into teaching strategies. This week’s What We’re Reading brings you five of October’s best sellers. Something for every age group. The Heroes of Olympus, Book One: The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan — Heroes of Olympus will be a five-book series.
