Fall into the Bookshare Book Club’s October Selection

Welcome again to the Bookshare Book Club! Each month, Bookshare staff will choose a book for members to read before hosting a discussion near the end of the month. The conversation will take place on Bookshare Twitter, using the hashtag #BKSBookClub, and also via Zoom webinar. While we have created this club with adult Bookshare members in mind, everyone is welcome to join, including non-Bookshare members.

October’s book will be Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson. Three generations of a family are at the center of this time-traveling novel. In 2001, Melody is turning sixteen in her grandparents’ home. In 1985, fifteen-year-old Iris is determined to keep her baby, not realizing the consequences of her choice. A story of memory, desire, and identity, Red at the Bone is the perfect fall read.

For October, we will host two book club discussions. The first is a Zoom webinar discussion on Wednesday, October 30th at 5:00 pm PT. Register here: https://benetech.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_HYKm-ktnTw6SIS7j5h7pNg

The second is a Twitter discussion on Friday, November 1st at 12:00 pm PT on the Bookshare Twitter account. Don’t have a Twitter account yet? Sign up here: https://twitter.com/ and be sure to follow us @Bookshare and #BKSBookClub

Be sure to join in on a fantastic conversation, as well as the announcement of our November book!
