Lifelong Learning with Bookshare

This back to school, ensure your students with learning differences have the reading tool they can use at school and for the rest of their lives.

Whether classes have begun or are around the corner, Bookshare can help make learning easier for students who struggle to read. It helps students with dyslexia, visual impairments, and physical disabilities by empowering them to read in ways that work for them with ebooks in easy-to-read formats like audio, audio + highlighted text, braille, and more.

Bookshare is a critical learning tool students can take with them for the rest of their lives. During school, Bookshare is free for all U.S. schools and students with qualifying disabilities. After school, members keep Bookshare to continue reading and learning into adulthood (with a low annual subscription). Bookshare ensures that people who thought they could not read proficiently can continue their learning journey at every stage of their lives.

Take these five Bookshare superstar readers: Emery, Tyrise, Jessica, Natalie, and Daniel. They all share a passion for reading and learning and are also at different stages in their lives. Regardless of age, Bookshare provides them with a wide range of accessible ebooks that have opened a new world.

“I remember thinking that I would never learn how to read, but Bookshare put me in my own world, and I found out that this is how everybody feels when they read.” -Emery, Age 12

“Bookshare gives me my independence.” -Tyrise, Age 16

“I mostly read for pleasure now that I’m not in school any more. Books offer escapism, enjoyment, and fulfillment. I have read seven books so far this year and that never would have happened without Bookshare.” -Jessica, Age 24

“Reading is my primary pastime. I’m often reading several books at once: academic, nonfiction, fiction, and sometimes a kids’ book for one of my classes. Bookshare’s membership for non-students is very reasonable and saves me a lot of money, because if I had to buy every book I read, it would be expensive.” – Natalie, Age 38

“I am exceedingly grateful for Bookshare offering all the content I could possibly want and for the devices and applications that let me so easily enjoy it.” -Daniel, Age 59

Whether you are a student with dyslexia who needs help keeping up with classroom reading or an adult who needs help seeing words with enlarged text on that next great novel, Bookshare can help at all stages of your life.
