Travel to Seoul Through a Mother’s Love with the Bookshare Book Club

Welcome back to the Bookshare Book Club! Each month, Bookshare staff will choose a book for members to read before hosting a discussion near the end of the month. The conversation will take place through a Zoom webinar. While we have created this club with adult Bookshare members in mind, everyone is welcome to join, including non-Bookshare members.

September’s book will be Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. In this memoir of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner tells about growing up Korean American, losing her mother, and forging her own identity. It was her mother’s diagnosis of terminal cancer, when Michelle was twenty-five, that forced a reckoning with her identity and brought her to reclaim the gifts of taste, language, and history her mother had given her.

The Zoom webinar discussion for Crying in H Mart will take place on Monday, October 24 at 3:00 pm PT/6:00 pm ET. Register here.
