Join Bookshare’s #CatchUpTogether Summer Read-a-thon

2021 has been a rollercoaster ride, so let Bookshare set you up for a fun and successful reading experience this summer.

Summer is knocking on the door, so that means it’s time to get ready for a summer of reading! You are invited to #CatchUpTogether with Bookshare’s Summer Read-a-thon. Readers of all ages have the opportunity to catch up on the books they want to read, find new books in curated summer reading lists, stay connected with the Bookshare community, and keep students reading-ready in the fall.

Let’s Read 200K Together

Last year’s summer read-a-thon was so successful that we are inviting the Bookshare community to participate again and bring everyone together after a difficult year. Bookshare’s #CatchUpTogether Summer Read-a-thon celebrates the joy of reading and encourages everyone to discover engaging books for every age and level.

I have a fifth grade student with dyslexia who recently signed up for Bookshare. He is excited to read (“with his ears”) for the first time ever! It has been a gift to him.”

From May 17 to July 31, the goal is to read 200,000 books as a community. Read any Bookshare book, including books in these lists curated by our librarians. For easy access, you can subscribe to them, and if you’re a teacher, share with students. Learn how.

“I love Bookshare. I am a special ed teacher for mild/moderate students. Many times when a student is stuck at a reading level, I tell them to just listen to a book that they have seen other students enjoy but is at a higher level. Doing this hooks them onto a particular genre or author. Then they start attempting to read on their own. It is so wonderful to see a kid take off in reading! Thank you.”
