Congratulations to all our summer contest participants on a job well done! 398 students, from Kindergarten to college, participated in making Bookshare’s third annual summer contest a success. This year’s theme, “Bookshare Everywhere,” celebrated summer reading and encouraged students to take Bookshare books wherever they went.  Students participated by reading as many books as they could and sharing where they read books this summer and how they made summer fun! Assistive Technology Spotlight – Read2Go

We often get asked, “What works with Bookshare books?”  So on occasion, we’ll feature the latest and greatest assistive technologies that our members can use. This week, we are pleased to feature Read2Go, our new accessible e-reader app for the Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. In just over a single week, over 270 Bookshare members have joined the “Bookshare Everywhere” Summer Contest, and the book entries are coming in fast!  The final book count will be revealed at the end of the summer so new contestants can have a chance to win the iPad 2 grand prize. It’s about COMMUNITY

Community is very important at Bookshare.   Student members, parents, teachers, and advocates all contribute to a vibrant Bookshare community that continually strives to support our children. This blog post focuses on the many ways students and families can participate in the Bookshare community. Summer Roadtrip Reading Contest – Announcing the Winners!

Drum roll please.  This year’s winners for the 2010 Bookshare Summer Road Trip contest are… each of the 340 students who registered and participated!  The contest was a “virtual road trip” where students downloaded and read books about our U.S. 50 states.  After reading, they submitted a short review, including one “cool” thing they learned about that state.  Collectively, these students downloaded, read, and submitted reviews for over 840 books… way to go!  Everyone who participated should feel a great sense of accomplishment.   Bookshare also wants to acknowledge our most active Road Trippers.  These are the top downloaders and readers for…
